Connection reset by peer

I’ve been too busy nowadays due to work, our project should start next month, we are closing those weird and awful yesterday-was-working bugs. Most recent bug includes one related to sockets. I have a C-written socket server that sends and receives (but send more than receives) and a in the other side there is the C#-written socket client that does the opposite, I don’t know why since past Monday started to throw Connection reset by peer, after googling all around finally found the solution: to set both buffers to its default value 8192 bytes, according to MSDN and some links I read that value should be the default one, however it didn’t work until I forced that value and now is working like a charm!

Now I have less things to in my Cycle’s TODO list.

Time Management, 2nd

I’ve finished reading Limoncelli’s book, and I have to say that I agree with all the things he wrote, even started to use his Cycle System in my workday and it seems to work, I go home happy with many things managed, am starting to think what to do with my free time, maybe learning Photography or learning any other programming language, maybe Python. To learn Photography I need a good camera and to learn Python I need some books, it seems I have things to learn.

I used to think that the brain was the most wonderful organ in my body. Then I remembered who was telling me this. – Emo Philips

I’m reading Time Management for System Administrators, and I have to say that’s a great book, filled with a lot of suggestions, if you want to stop working late to start working smart you must get it!

There’s also a 45min video with Tom Limoncelli, the author, about his book.

Beryl + Feisty

I’ve been playing with Feisty since two weeks ago, there aren’t any big changes other than improved performance and better desktop integration, however today after power the PC on my Xorg wasn’t unable to start, the well known Screen not found problem. The process is the same as used with Edgy, I even noticed that there’s a newer update (21th December) in the Nvidia drivers.

Now am using the most recent Ubuntu-packaged kernel image with Beryl on Feisty using the Flatlooks Beryl theme.

Memories, some of them

Tonight I decided to clean my bedroom and throw away things, such as papers, notebooks, manuals and so on, and clothes that haven’t used time ago and don’t plan to use anymore. I’m kind of nostalgic when doing that, because usually spend time reading and leafing those notes to remember. I haven’t yet noticed but this year will be my 24th birthday, am not that old but am closer.

Would like to visit some friends haven’ seen since years ago.

Reverse Engineering

Since months ago I’ve been updating the older CLR Reverse Engineering implementation, the problems with current one are related to Generics, I still need to get deeper into the values Cecil allows to read from the assembly, hoping a sooner release.

I would love to get the Nokia 770, even found a store here!!
